Back On Track - Finally!

Two more pounds down and that much closer to my goal of 140! This has not been easy... but it hasn't been quite as hard as I once imagined. It's funny how when you get going and start creating new habits it just isn't the giant undertaking that was once too overwhelming to consider attempting.

I'm far more than half way to my goal. Now, I just hope I can get the rest of this off by Thanksgiving. I know I have major temptations coming up in November and December. I'll be making fudge, toffee, and cream cheese mints... just to name a few treats. I won't allow myself to be sunk... but I don't plan on depriving myself during my favorite time of year either.

I know it will be impossible for me to over indulge - I can't handle too much sugar without getting REALLY sick ... which is a great thing, actually.

Congrats!

I know I'm freaking scared of the holidays and baking of goodies to give away, and the showing up of other plates of goodies on my doorstep and the parties...

Has the PCOS affected your weight loss?

Amka I apologize for not responding sooner. I didn't get a notice on your comment.

Thank you VERY much! PCOS not only affected my weight loss, but, as you probably have read, it is the cause of my weight gain as well.

I'll go into more detail in my next post!

Unfortunately, the only way (in my opinion and I'm not a nutritionist or doctor or anything, I just know what works for me) to lose weight with PCOS is to eliminate the sugar (carbs) from your diet.

I recently read an article about a study going on at a medical university where they are beginning to realize that the root problem with PCOS is insulin resistence. Which is why so many people with PCOS are also on Metaformin (sp.?) a diabetic Rx for blood sugar control.
